Artistic Statement
Based in the south of France, Studio CREATIV LIGHT develops artistic creations deeply connected to the territories they inhabit. The Mediterranean holds a central place in this work: an everyday landscape, a collective memory and an inexhaustible source of visual narratives.
It is in this spirit that the encounter with the world of Thierry Pierras came about, a visual artist, scenographer and musician. Nourished by mythology, traditional cultures and maritime stories, his work explores the themes of journey, transmission and memory.
Descended from a lineage of Aegean Sea fishermen, Thierry Pierras carries a family heritage deeply rooted in maritime culture. The gestures, skills and rituals passed down by his ancestors, notably his grandfather, a master shipwright, echo those of Mediterranean fishermen today. From this dialogue between territorial belonging, inherited memory and contemporary writing, a sensitive and authentic work emerges, in which the sea becomes at once narrative, matter and light.
Performance Synopsis
In his workshop, Gabrieli Sassaronis carved pointus destined for the open sea. As a child, his grandson would watch him in silence, captivated by these wooden structures, by the sound of the tools and the smell of the materials. Come evening, eyes closed, he would imagine the long journey of the fishermen across the Mediterranean, carried by the boats born under his grandfather's hands.
Between memories and childhood dreams, the story explores transmission, the bond with the sea and a voyage beyond time, where imagination erases the boundaries of space and dimension.
